Complete Guide to Applying Organic Granular Fertilizer: Efficient Usage for Different Scenarios

2026-07-02

Organic granular fertilizer has mild and long-lasting fertilizer efficiency, but only when used correctly can it give full play to its value of soil improvement and yield increase. The following are the key points of scientific application for different planting scenarios.

Using it as base fertilizer is the most mainstream method. Before sowing or transplanting, spread organic granular fertilizer evenly on the soil surface, then plow and mix it into the 15-20 cm deep tillage layer to fully mix the fertilizer with the soil. Generally, the dosage is 100-200 kg per mu for field crops, and can be appropriately increased to 200-300 kg for vegetable and fruit tree planting according to soil fertility, which can lay a solid nutrient foundation for the whole growth period of crops.

When used as top dressing, furrow application or hole application is recommended to avoid nutrient loss caused by surface spreading. Dig furrows or holes 10-15 cm away from the side of crop roots, apply the fertilizer, then cover with soil and water, so as to accelerate nutrient release with water. Top dressing should avoid direct contact with crop roots to prevent root growth damage caused by excessive local concentration. For fruit trees, top dressing can be applied in circular trenches along the canopy drip line.

For daily storage, keep it in a dry and ventilated place to avoid moisture and caking; unused fertilizer after opening should be sealed to prevent the entry of miscellaneous bacteria and nutrient volatilization. Combined with appropriate watering and microbial agents, the fertilizer efficiency can be further improved, and the formation of soil aggregate structure can be accelerated, realizing the long-term balance of land use and soil conservation.
