EDTA Iron: The Core Solution for Rapid Correction of Crop Iron Deficiency Chlorosis

2026-09-15

Iron is an essential micronutrient for crops to synthesize chlorophyll and participate in photosynthesis and respiration. The most typical symptom of iron deficiency in crops is interveinal chlorosis in young leaves, which can lead to growth stagnation, yield decline and poor fruit quality in severe cases.

After being applied to soil, common iron fertilizers such as ferrous sulfate are easily fixed into insoluble compounds, with an actual utilization rate of less than 10%. With its stable chelated structure, EDTA chelated iron greatly improves the bioavailability of iron: leaf greening can be observed 5-7 days after foliar spraying, and chlorosis symptoms can be effectively relieved 10-15 days after soil application.

In addition to correcting chlorosis, EDTA iron can also activate various metabolic enzymes in crops, promote nitrogen absorption and nitrogen fixation, enhance crop stress resistance, and improve fruit sugar content and color uniformity. It is especially suitable for iron supplementation and quality improvement of high value-added crops such as facility agriculture and orchard planting, and is a preferred product to replace traditional iron fertilizers in green agricultural production.
